THE HAND THAT SEARCHED IN THE VOID
THE HAND THAT SEARCHED IN THE VOID
Finissage group exhibition
@ Kunstfort, Vijfhuizen

With a.o. Razia Barsatie

The hand that searched in the void is an exhibition and public programme around holding on and letting go. Amongst it are stories that try to get hold of the past and installations embodying personal processes of coping and grasping. We also witness artists relinquishing control, negotiating acts of holding on and letting go with the materials and technologies they work with. The human body is in some way present in all exhibited stories.

Opening 5 JULY
Low-stimulus opening: 17:00 - 19:00
Screening One Minutes: 19:30 - 20:30
Special Social Club: 20:30 - 00:00

The exhibition ALIEN shows the results of a collaboration between artists Tommy Smits and Shani Leseman with artist from Zinderin Kunst.

They have been making ceramic works while thinking and talking about aliens and outer space, collaboratively making a series of ceramic alien heads. The Alien can be seen as the ultimate Other: one who exists outside of their subjective bubble and is perceived as different from oneself or one’s own group. To encounter an Other makes you question your own patterns, behaviors, and what you think is normal. They went from being alienated to being acquainted with each other’s process and ideas, about aliens but also about art and making it. The exhibition space will function as a UFO where their explorations on this big mystery are to be seen.

(INTENSE) ˚◦✧TRANSFORMATION✧◦˚ HEMISYNC, SHIFTING, PERFECT VIBE COMBO (DANGEROUS!) | GET ME OUT OF HERE | 4HZ THETA BINAURAL BEATS, 2024
Episode by Nanna Due and Tibor Dieters

'If I am seeing this, it is a sign. My time has come. I have to leave now. My shifting journey has ended the moment I see this. I literally have cancelled my void reality subscription. This is the end. I cannot stay here any longer. By watching this, I am kinda cheating through my last journey, pretty much fast-forward skipping right to the end. All I have to do now is sit back and enjoy my last moments here. Seriously
treasure them. I could get force-shifted any moment now, no need to do anything at all, really. It is all about intention. No methods to be done, no meditations, no nothing. My subconscious will complete the process for me asap. It is time to embrace reality, the one I left behind. No more resisting, it will be spectacular, I promise.'
