| Artists at Home | After Iconic Houses' first five years, we can number a membership of 150 iconic homes spread across 25 countries and six continents. Together, they form an inspiring picture of the global architectural heritage of the 20th century. And each and every one of them is ahead of their time. Among our member houses, we can also count a number of artists' homes and studios, unique spaces which offer fascinating insights into how their former owners lived and how they created their artworks. In our next five years, we plan to focus on increasing our artist home membership, as this constitutes a fascinating aspect of the history of modern art.
In the following months we will highlight two artists' homes and studios in each newsletter, starting today with Dorich House Museum in London and Georg Kolbe Museum in Berlin. Enjoy!

| In Berlin's Modernist Network – exhibition in Georg Kolbe Museum | Georg Kolbe's studio house is a jewel in the Berlin Museum Landscape. Kolbe was the most successful German sculptor in the first half of the 20th century. The ensemble that he had built for himself at the height of his success in 1928/29 represents a significant example of Berlin architecture of the 1920s. Kolbe collaborated artistically with architects like Mies van der Rohe, Gropius, Taut and Mendelsohn. Kolbe’s sculptures have been installed in some of the most iconic examples of modernist architecture. The most famous of them is surely ‘Dawn’ (1927), which stood in Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion (1929) and is present at the current exhibition about Georg Kolbe In Berlin's Modernist Network, that runs to 1 May.
