Barcelona's Casa Vicens, a unique oasis of calm with an Oriental and Moorish flavour, stands in the peaceful neighbourhood of Gràcia. New in our Network: Le Corbusier’s Cabanon!

Le Corbusier designed this simple wooden structure on the Cote d'Azur as a place to sleep and work in the summer months (cabanon means cabin). He spent every summer here from 1952 until his death in 1965, when he died from a heart attack swimming in the sea at Cap-Martin. The design is a miracle of compactness.

La Ricarda Special

Designed by architect Antonio Bonet Castellana, La Ricarda, is an emblematic example of rationalist architecture in Catalonia. It is located in the middle of a pine grove by the sea near Barcelona. The children who grew up in the house are now guiding visitors around. An extensive slideshow is added to our Specials section.
